Game Review
In a tightly contested Premier League match at the London Stadium, West Ham United and Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw. The result was not entirely unexpected given both teams' recent form, but it did little to significantly alter their standings in the league table. The game saw West Ham United take the lead in the 50th minute through Tomáš Souček (GAP +1.1%), who capitalized on a well-executed set-piece to put the hosts ahead. Manchester United, however, responded late in the game with a crucial equalizer from substitute Benjamin Šeško in the 90th minute, ensuring the visitors left with a point. Tactically, both teams made minimal changes to their lineups. West Ham United's manager opted for one change, bringing in Freddie Potts while Callum Wilson was left out. This decision was part of a strategic rotation, although specific reasons for Wilson's exclusion were not publicly detailed. Manchester United, on the other hand, maintained their starting lineup from the previous match, reflecting a stable selection approach. Key performances were noted from several players. Taty Castellanos (GAP +5.5%) was instrumental for West Ham, providing a constant threat in attack. For Manchester United, Amad Diallo (GAP +3.4%) and Bruno Fernandes (GAP +2.9%) were pivotal in midfield, orchestrating play and maintaining possession under pressure. The draw leaves West Ham United in a position where they need to capitalize on upcoming fixtures to climb the table, while Manchester United will view the result as a missed opportunity to gain ground on the league leaders. Both teams will need to address their defensive vulnerabilities, as highlighted by the late equalizer, to improve their standings in the coming weeks.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
